TTHE LONG-TERM VISION

Ultimate Dreams

From a B&B and flower farm to a thriving, self-sustaining queer village.

The Agrivillage

On a 100+ acre property in Litchfield County, Sein and Skye could grow from a B&B and flower farm into something unprecedented: a thriving, self-sustaining queer village where community, agriculture, hospitality, and healing all happen on the same land.

The Boutique Hotel at the Center

The original B&B grows into a small boutique hotel — 12 to 20 rooms — still cozy and human-scaled, still farm-rooted, but with expanded capacity for retreat programming, events, and longer-stay guests. The hotel remains the economic engine that funds the broader community.

Resident Cottages and Cohousing

A cluster of small, ecologically designed cottages or cohousing units — each privately owned or rented — where community members live year-round. Residents contribute to the farm operation, participate in shared governance, and benefit from the commons. These are not hotel guests; they are neighbors.

The Working Farm

The flower farm expands. Vegetables, herbs, and fruit join the cut flowers. A greenhouse extends the growing season. A farm stand and on-property farmers’ market serve both residents and the broader Litchfield County community. CSA subscriptions grow. The farm supplies the hotel kitchen, the cooking classes, and the community meals.

The Commons and Third Space

A shared building — large kitchen, dining hall, library, workshop space, and gathering room — serves as the communal heart of the village. SMART meetings happen here. Queer Nights happen here. Knit & Knatter. Cooking classes. Community dinners. It is the physical embodiment of everything Sein and Skye believe: that connection is not a luxury, it is a necessity.

Glamping and Cabin Area

A dedicated glamping and cabin zone — perhaps 10 to 20 tents or small cabins — offers an accessible price point for guests who want the Sein and Skye experience without the full B&B rate. These spaces are woven into the flower farm grounds, surrounded by nature, and connected to all shared amenities.

Healing and Wellness Programming

Dedicated spaces for yoga, meditation, body work, and therapeutic modalities — offered to both residents and guests. A partnership with licensed therapists and LGBTQ+-affirming mental health practitioners could bring genuine healing programming to the land, turning Sein and Skye into a destination for intentional recovery and renewal.

How the Agrivillage Supports the Business

The agrivillage model doesn't replace the B&B — it deepens it. Every element reinforces and cross-promotes the others, creating a resilient, self-sustaining ecosystem.

Resident Labor

Community members contribute to farm operations, reducing staffing costs while building shared ownership.

Expanded Revenue

Cottages, glamping, wellness programs, and the farm stand create new income streams beyond traditional lodging.

Year-Round Economy

Residents ensure the property operates beyond seasonal tourism, stabilizing cash flow throughout the year.

Brand Differentiation

No other destination in the region — or perhaps the country — offers this model. It's a story that markets itself.

Community

At its heart, Sein and Skye is about building community — not just hosting guests. The ultimate dream is a place where queer people can live, work, heal, and celebrate together on land that reflects their values.

"We grow beauty, serve with joy, and build the kind of community where people return not just for the flowers, but for how we make them feel."

From shared governance to community dinners, from SMART meetings to Queer Nights — Sein and Skye envision a space where connection is not a luxury but a necessity. A place where neighbors support one another, where the land feeds both body and spirit, and where every person who arrives knows they belong.
